DDP Shipping Explained: How Your Chamber Gets From Our Factory Floor to Your Door

Sea freight 35-50 days or air freight ~10 days — how DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) shipping works for large wellness chambers, including insurance, tracking and final-mile delivery.

DDP Shipping Explained: How Your Chamber Gets From Our Factory Floor to Your Door

Every chamber we sell ships DDP — Delivered Duty Paid. That three-letter term is the single most important shipping concept for international equipment buyers, so let's explain exactly what it means and how the journey works.

What DDP Actually Means

Under DDP terms, we — the seller — are responsible for everything until the chamber reaches your address:

  • Export packaging and factory loading
  • International freight (sea or air)
  • Export and import customs clearance
  • Import duties and tariffs
  • Final-mile delivery to your door

Your total quoted price includes all of it. There are no surprise invoices from customs brokers, no port storage fees, no "you need to hire a customs agent" phone calls. The price we quote is the price you pay.

The Two Speeds

Sea freight — 35 to 50 days. The standard option, included in most quotes. Your chamber travels in a dedicated wooden crate by ocean container to a US port (we route primarily through Savannah, Los Angeles, or Miami depending on your location), then by truck to your address.

Air freight — approximately 10 days. Available for urgent orders at an additional $2,000–2,500 depending on the model. A recent Australian customer received their soft chamber by air in about 10 days, with the full DDP total (including an air-conditioning upgrade) at $7,620.

The Final Mile: Where Shipments Actually Fail

Here's the part most sellers don't tell you: the riskiest segment of any international equipment shipment is the last 50 miles — the local truck from the port or warehouse to your door.

This is where chambers get damaged by careless handling, where "delivery attempted" cards appear because the freight company couldn't handle a 330kg crate, and where uninsured shipments become disputes.

Our approach:

  • Single-carrier responsibility — one logistics carrier owns the shipment door-to-door; no hand-offs between companies that can blame each other
  • Full insurance on every shipment — every chamber ships insured for its full value
  • Realistic delivery windows — we quote the actual range (35-50 days sea), not the optimistic one, because a missed honest promise beats a broken optimistic one
  • Regional routing intelligence — for example, Australian deliveries route through Brisbane rather than Sydney for smoother final-mile handling

What You Need to Prepare

For most models, very little:

  1. A clear path — measure your doorways (our hard chambers split in half to ~0.5m for standard doors; 78-81cm narrow versions are available as custom builds)
  2. Power — a standard outlet matching your country's voltage (we build chambers to your local spec: 110V/60Hz for the US, 230V for Australia/EU)
  3. Space for the crate — the shipping crate is larger than the chamber itself; plan for its arrival and disposal
